Going GtreeNing at Calatagan
October 15, 2008
Mother Earth just got healthier as twenty four eager volunteers led by AnimoSibil’s pres ident, Jason Ongpeng, journeyed to Barangay Talisay, Calatagan, Batangas aiming to plant as many mangrove propagules as they could.
AnimoSibil, a De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) – College of Engineering subchapter, donated fifteen thousand pesos to the Lasallian Institute for the Environment (LIFE) and played its role in the Green for Life: One Million Trees and Beyond project last September 6, 2008 by successfully planting 2,000 out of the total of 10,000 propagules planted on that day.
In addition to AnimoSibil, other De La Salle Institutions (De La Salle - Lipa, De La Salle - College of St. Benilde, De La Salle - Heath & Sciences Inc., De La Salle - Zobel, and La Salle Green Hills) were present in creating a feat of working as One La Salle towards one million… and beyond.
The project was in cooperation with the Samahan ng mga Mangingisda ng Calatagan (SAMACA) and the DENR. The successful event was led by LSGH headed by Ver Antiqueno. Ms. Christy Arciaga and Bernard Lunar of DLS-LIPA coordinated with the SAMACA and DENR to make the mangrove planting possible.

Bracket B entries dominate Semis, Deciding games tomorrow
May 22, 2008After the series of games held last night, three teams from bracket B emerged victorious for a slot in the games that will determine which teams will fight for the coveted championship. Teams playing for that shot will be as follows: top team Hyder will face formidable challenger ASAI. While the once 1st and 2nd ranked teams in bracket B will battle it out again, Stages versus One Roxas.
Games are scheduled tomorrow on 7:45pm at DLSU Enrique Razon Sports Complex.
Place your bets it’s gonna be two great games tomorrow.
At Long Last.. an Update (BBall Tournament)
May 21, 2008after almost two weeks of no updates, here are the most recent happenings in the world of Animosibil Hyder Consulting Basketball Tournament.
After the round robin, four teams from each bracket emerged as contenders for the slot in the Championship. From Bracket B, the undefeated Stages team has been consistently performing strong in the games. Playing with them for the quarterfinals will be ALI-CMG, the 4th seed in bracket A. While Hyder Consulting, the top team in bracket A faces Pacific Pipes for their slot. For the 2nd and 3rd seeds matchup, it will be CE Faculty versus Aromin+Sy Associates Inc. as well as Ayala One Roxas versus DCI.
The teams were assigned from ther respective ranks in the standings. Bracket A though showed a three way tie between DCI, ALI-CMG and ID103 all having 3-3 cards. But according to FIBA Amateur Rules, in case of a three-way ties or more, the Quotient system will be used to break the tie. Through their respective quotients, DCI and ALI-CMG advances to the quarterfinals.
The computation is as follows:
Quotient = Scored/Allowed
DCI vs ALI-CMG (57-38)
DCI vs ID103 (64-53)
ALI-CMG vs ID103 (54-40)
DCI = (57+64)/(53+38) =1.330
ALI-CMG = (38+54)/(57+40) = 0.948
ID103 = (53+40)/(64+54) = 0.788
Midtournament Update: Hyder and Stages going strong!
May 9, 2008As Animosibil-Hyder Consulting Basketball tournament reaches its midpoint, Hyder and Stages still remain unbreakable after winning 4 out of their 4 games, making them the team to beat in their respective brackets.
Bracket A shows two teams in the second place with CE Faculty and ALI CMG both have a 2-1 standing. While in bracket B, One Roxas follows closely, only losing to Stages at their last game.
With only two to three games left to play for each team, there is still hope to play catch up and get one of the eight playoff slots which is slated on May 21.
Don’t forget we still have the Yahoo Groups!
May 5, 2008For all alumni who is not yet a member of the originial online community. Please make yourself counted by adding to Animosibil’s Yahoo group. The yahoo group will handle the email updates and is an integral part of the site. It will also house important files for download as well as some photographs taken from recent activities.
We are not hoping for a very large community with small participation but we are hoping for an active community that will be very beneficial for each other. It is a long shot but we think we can do it.
Cheers!
